Sweet. 

Plantains are members of the banana family. They are similar in appearance but are more dense and less sweet. Plantains grow naturally in tropical climates. Plantains must be cooked but can be prepared at any stage of ripeness. Because we crisp our Sweet Plantain Strips to perfection when they are ripe, browning may occur. This is normal, and is what makes them naturally sweet without having to add any sugar.
